Alain Lefèvre’s recording world would not be complete without mentioning the importance of the composer he has become in recent years. Jardin d’images, his fourth CD featuring his own compositions, is a much-awaited opus after his Blissfully Sleepless, which earned him a Félix at the 2006 ADISQ Gala. This recording aims to be a collection of musical memories.

The album features Dis-moi tout, a strong expression of all that is left unsaid; Promenade italienne; Le Panda magique, only performed on the black keys, that bears Oriental colours; Jour de pluie; Sous le ciel de Cap-Santé; Tendresse; a new reading of Ville-Émard la Belle, with double bassist Michel Donato and drummer Paul Brochu, also found on the irresistible Fafoune, a knowing wink to Alain’s cat, with the exceptional participation of success novelist Chrystine Brouillet who whistles her way through the piece.

“Intimate letters at the piano” (La Presse), his compositions, much like snapshots of life, are tonal and their pianistic writing, “absolutely gorgeous and musically sophisticated” (Times Argus).
